Recently, due to some not-so-new challenges in my life, I re- read the whole SOGR text again, hoping to glean some wisdom from this 100-year-old book.

And, wow!

Little did I know, but I missed out on a whole lot of ideas that I just wasn’t ready for the last time I read it. So, I decided to write my own abridged summary expressing the flow of my own thoughts from chapter to chapter that represents my way of understanding Wally at this present time.

I hope it is useful to you and maybe prompts you to re-read it again. (Rebecca says she read it more than 150 times.)

1. We all have this innate power within us to be, do and have  everything that allows us to find full expression for our body,  mind and soul.

Question: How do we awaken this innate power?

2. There is nothing in our external circumstances that can stop  us from becoming rich. This innate power is in everyone, and all  we have to do is to live in harmony with the law of the universe.

Question: What is this law of the universe?

3. This law of the universe consists of one intelligent substance from which all things come. This substance is inexhaustible,  limitless and abundant. What we have to do is to cooperate with  this formless substance.

Question: How do we cooperate with this formless substance?

4. We cooperate with this formless substance by thinking thoughts  of abundance and wealth. These thoughts of abundance will align us  with the natural, friendly forces of the universe.

Question: What happens when we find this alignment?

5. Life keeps increasing. It gets better and better. When we  align with this natural force, our desire to be rich is a natural outflow of universal desire to express itself fully in us!

Question: So, how do riches come to us?

6. Riches come to us when we are providing use value in excess of the cash value. And this we do by picturing exactly what we want  and love to be, do and have with the certainty that it is already on its way to us.

Question: How to we keep this channel of abundance open  consistently to receive what we desire?

7. We feel and express gratitude for everything that is here now and is on its way. When we mentally shift our thoughts to all the good there is now, all the good will begin to come to us!

Question: Now that we are primed to receive what we desire, how  do we start impressing that on the formless?

8. We impress our desires on the formless by entering into “…  full enjoyment of the things we want.” We enter into the moment  where we experience all that we desire in full faith and purpose  that it is already here.

Question: How do we exercise this faith and purpose?

9. By using our will to stay focused on our personal vision  instead of trying to change things on the outside.

10. We also turn our minds away from any influences that may dim  our vision of what we want.

Question: How do we start taking action?

11. By thinking in a certain way, we seize opportunities that  come to us because our minds are already attuned to what we  desire. We act from this place of inspiration and do all we can  do right where we are.

Question: So, how do we starting taking only efficient action?

12. By putting the whole power of our vision into every action  that we take, and proactively doing what is available to us now,  no matter how simple and routine it appears to be.

Question: How do get into the business we desire as we go about in a certain way?

13. The business (or career) we desire will come to us when we do everything we can in our present business and we start developing and using the mental tools for the business we desire to be in in the correct manner. Our vision of the right business and the act of being more than we are now will bring us into the environment we desire.

Question: Having done what we can, how do we contribute to the world our unique purpose?

14. By sending everyone we come into contact with an impression of increase that can only come from a strong sense of faith and  purpose.

Question: How do we give to the world the gift of who we are?

15. By becoming an advancing personality, a personality that is continually adding more life to the world. The riches we receive are in accordance with the exact law of the universe, and the advancing person will surely attract all the riches that he/she desires to be, do and have by being and living according to this law.

Question: So what can I do if I meet an “apparent failure?”

16. Go on in full faith and gratitude if we chance upon  circumstances that seem at first to be a “failure.” According the law of the universe, if we do not receive what we desire at that moment in time, a better and bigger opportunity is on its way as long as we keep living in a certain way.
